BAX BioDisc Service – Carnwath, South Lanarkshire
BAX BioDisc service Carnwath completed today on a Kingspan/Klargester unit. We confirmed the mechanical and electrical health of the plant, verified alarms and drive, and advised on desludging to protect the system and stay aligned with SEPA expectations.

✅ What we checked and proved
- Motor & electrics: Readings logged at 0.63 A and 244 V – performance within expected range.
- Alarms & drive: Loss-of-rotation/alarms tested; alarm system and drive confirmed working correctly.
- Clamps & bearings: Inspected – all OK, no excess play, heat or noise.
- General clean: BioDisc internals hosed down to maintain free rotation and keep biofilm balanced.
- Desludging advice: Excessive sludge/solids observed – tank needs emptied as soon as possible to prevent irreparable damage.
As part of every service, we measure sludge and crust and provide an estimated next desludge date. That avoids unnecessary tanker costs while making sure you don’t overrun and damage the plant.

🛠 Why emptying matters
Running with excessive sludge overloads the BioDisc, strains the motor and bearings, reduces oxygen transfer, and can cause mechanical failure. Timely emptying protects the rotor, drive and effluent quality — and it’s cheaper than repairs.

📅 Service contracts
We offer annual BioDisc service contracts across Carnwath, Lanark and the wider South Lanarkshire area — including mechanical checks, electrical testing, alarm proving and desludge scheduling.
