BN BioDisc Fault Repair and Inspection – Ladybank, Fife

Today we attended an urgent callout in Ladybank, Cupar, Fife, to assess a BN BioDisc — the largest model in the BioDisc range. The issue was a loss of rotation alarm triggered by a faulty connection between the rotation sensor and the control panel.

Once onsite, the faulty wiring was safely repaired and tested, restoring the system back to proper operation. The fault was diagnosed before it could escalate further — proving just how vital routine inspections are for keeping sewage treatment systems online.

This BioDisc uses a direct drive system. Both motors were drawing 1.2 amps and the control panel was receiving 230V input. The inverter was delivering the correct 400V 3-phase output to the motors. The plant was fully operational on arrival.

In addition to the fault repair, we conducted a full condition check of the system. No issues were found with the bearings, clamps, drive assembly, or alarms — and a new air filter was fitted to ensure efficient airflow.

As part of every service, we assess whether your tank needs emptied. This avoids overloading the system with sludge, which can cause backups and long-term damage. This system is now logged and prepared for ongoing servicing under a proper schedule.

We cover Ladybank, Fife, and the full of Scotland. If your sewage treatment plant is showing warning lights or behaving unusually, get in touch. Our expert servicing protects your system and your property from unnecessary breakdowns.
