BioFicient Sewage Treatment Plant Blower Replacement – Black Isle

BioFicient blower replacement Black Isle — We recently attended a sewage treatment plant in the Black Isle, just north of Inverness, to replace a failed air blower and carry out a full system service.

The existing blower had failed completely, meaning the plant was no longer receiving the aeration required for proper biological treatment.

Issues Identified

• Air blower not operational
• No effective aeration within treatment process
• Loss of pressure alarm not commissioned
• System required full service

Work Completed

• New JDK80 air blower supplied and installed
• Airline installed to allow alarm operation
• Loss of pressure alarm commissioned and tested
• Full service carried out on BioFicient plant
• System checked for correct performance

System Performance After Works

The system is now operating correctly with:

• Consistent and reliable aeration
• Blower running within specification
• Loss of pressure alarm fully operational
• Biological treatment process restored

Why This Matters

Aeration is critical to how a sewage treatment plant functions.

This was a close call — if this system hadn't been attended when it was, the consequences could’ve been far worse, including complete treatment failure and poor effluent quality.

With the new blower and alarm system in place, the plant is now protected against future failures.
