Clearwater E6 Air Blower Replacement

Clearwater E6 air blower replacement — We recently attended a callout to a Clearwater E6 sewage treatment plant after the existing air blower failed, preventing the plant from receiving the aeration required for biological treatment.

The air blower is one of the most important components within an aerated sewage treatment plant. Without a constant supply of oxygen, the biological treatment process begins to deteriorate, reducing treatment efficiency and affecting final effluent quality.

Air Blower Failure

Following our inspection, the original air blower was confirmed to have failed and required replacement.

The failed unit was removed before a new JDK 60 air blower was supplied, installed and commissioned.

Electrical and Operational Testing

Once the new blower had been installed, a full electrical inspection and operational check of the treatment plant was completed.

  • Electrical components tested
  • Control panel inspected
  • Plant controls checked
  • Air delivery confirmed
  • Aeration distribution checked
  • Complete plant operation tested

Following commissioning, the treatment plant was found to be operating correctly with no further operational faults identified.

Aeration Restored

After installation of the new JDK 60 blower, air delivery was restored throughout the treatment plant.

The aeration process was found to be operating normally, with satisfactory air distribution and no further faults identified during testing.

Sludge and Crust Inspection

As part of the visit, sludge and crust levels were measured within the primary and final settlement chambers.

  • Primary crust: 50mm
  • Primary sludge: 200mm
  • Final crust: 50mm
  • Final sludge: 150mm

All readings remained within acceptable operating limits, meaning desludging was not required at the time of the visit.

Plant Returned to Service

Following replacement of the failed blower, the Clearwater E6 was recommissioned and fully tested.

  • New JDK 60 air blower installed

  • Plant returned to normal operation
