Graf One2Clean Service – Biggar

We recently carried out a routine service on a Graf One2Clean sewage treatment plant in Biggar.

A full electrical and mechanical inspection was completed, with the treatment plant found to be operating correctly. The air blower, control panel and biological treatment process were all functioning as intended.

Graf One2Clean Inspection

The treatment plant was inspected throughout, including the control system, blower, air lines, diffuser assemblies and treatment process.

The biological process was healthy, with good activity present throughout the aeration zone. Final effluent clarity and discharge quality were also found to be good.

Hiblow XP-80 Blower Service

The system is fitted with a Hiblow XP-80 air blower, which was electrically tested and found to be operating correctly.

  • Supply voltage: 230V
  • Air blower current: 2.5A
  • Control panel condition: Good
  • Control panel wiring: Good
  • Air lines in good condition

The existing air filter was found to be dirty and was replaced during the service. All Jubilee clips were also checked and tightened.

Diffusers & Operating Phases Tested

Both diffuser assemblies were inspected, scoured and cleaned. The diffusers were found to be in good condition with no rips or tears present.

All three Graf operating phases were then manually tested and found to be functioning correctly.

High MLSS Reading

The main point identified during the service was the MLSS reading, which was recorded at 85%.

This indicates a very dense concentration of suspended solids within the aeration zone. Although the biological treatment process was healthy at the time of the service, allowing the MLSS concentration to continue increasing can eventually reduce treatment efficiency.

The MLSS sample showed a very dense solids concentration of approximately 85%.

Desludging Recommended

Because of the elevated MLSS reading, we recommended that the treatment plant is desludged at the earliest convenient opportunity.

Removing the excess solids will help maintain suitable treatment conditions and prevent the biological process from becoming overloaded.

Service Completed

  • Air filter replaced
  • Blower electrically tested
  • Both diffuser assemblies cleaned and inspected
  • All three Graf operating phases manually tested
  • Air-line clips tightened
  • Biological process inspected
  • Effluent and discharge quality checked
  • No mechanical or electrical remedial repairs required

The treatment plant was left operating correctly, with desludging recommended due to the high MLSS reading.

We provide Graf One2Clean servicing and sewage treatment plant maintenance across Biggar and throughout Scotland.
