🔧 Bioficient 5 (gravity system, JDK-200 blower)

  • Blower: Stripped, inspected, filter replaced, electrical readings logged (all within spec).
  • Diffusers: Both tested individually to self-clean and restore even airflow.
  • Sludge return: Solenoid and timer checked and proved, ensuring settled sludge is re-circulated.
  • MLSS concentration: Recorded at 10% — within range, but sludge levels mean the tank will need emptied in January 2026 to prevent solids overload.
  • Alarms: Loss of pressure and power alarms simulated and confirmed operational.
  • Effluent quality: Inspection chamber running clear.

🔧 P6 BioTec (JDK-80 blower, Darcy panel)

  • Airlift: Found blocked on arrival — cleared to restore proper effluent distribution through the distribution cone. If left, this would have caused complete treatment failure.
  • Media & chamber: Pressure washed throughout. Enkamat filter cleaned to prevent ponding and blinding.
  • Blower: Stripped, filter replaced, diaphragms checked, readings logged.
  • Control panel: Darcy Kingspan panel inspected — fuses, wiring, indicators and lamps all in working order.
  • Sludge levels: Blanket depth recorded — the tank will also need emptied in January 2026 to maintain performance.
  • Alarms: Power and pressure alarms tested and functional.
  • Effluent: Discharge clear and compliant after service.

⚠️ Why servicing is imperative

Sewage treatment plants fail when left unmaintained: blowers overheat on choked filters, airlifts and spray cones block, diffusers blind, and sludge builds until the plant cannot cope. The result is pollution, odours, and regulatory breaches. Routine servicing prevents these failures, keeps systems compliant, and extends equipment life.
