T-T Pump Station Emergency Call-Out – Goliath Pump Repaired in Lochearnhead
Today, 14th December 2025, we were called to a newly installed T-T sewage pump station in Lochearnhead, Stirlingshire after the customer reported that the system was not functioning and had reached a high level within the chamber.
Upon arrival, we carried out detailed electrical testing. The issue was isolated to a faulty rotary isolator switch, located between the main supply and the IP66-rated fused spur inside the pump chamber. Despite being in the ON position, the isolator was preventing 240V from reaching the pump.
We safely bypassed the faulty rotary isolator to restore full pump operation, leaving the fused spur in place for isolation until a replacement isolator is fitted. The chamber is now operating as intended.
The pump in use was a Goliath model supplied by T-T Pumps. Once power was restored, the pump was tested extensively and performed exactly as expected, discharging waste effectively to the drainage system.
This is a clear reminder that even brand-new systems can encounter electrical faults or installation issues. Having systems checked periodically through routine maintenance can prevent these kinds of disruptions before they escalate into backups or property damage.
