Klargester BioDisc Service – Blanefield
The Klargester BioDisc is a reliable sewage treatment solution used extensively in Blanefield’s rural properties and larger homes. Known for its low energy use and mechanical reliability, it’s a preferred system in off-grid areas.
How It Works
Wastewater enters a settlement tank where solids are separated. The liquid then flows into a rotating biological contactor (RBC) section, where bacteria on the discs digest the organic content. This treated water then flows into a final settlement area before being discharged.
Service Checklist
- Check and adjust the drive belt tension and inspect for fraying
- Verify motor operation and check gearbox oil level
- Clean access covers and flush scum layer from settlement chamber
- Ensure discs rotate smoothly with no wobble or imbalance
- Inspect baffles and media supports for structural damage
- Test outlet flow and clear any back pressure issues
Known Issues in Blanefield Installs
Blanefield homes often see silt ingress from nearby watercourses. Many units are also installed on sloped sites, so effluent backflow valves are critical during heavy rainfall.
Service Frequency & Advice
Due to the terrain and environmental load, BioDisc systems in Blanefield should be serviced every 6 months. We recommend periodic desludging and rotor maintenance to avoid bearing damage.
