Sewage Pump Chamber Upgrade – Minishant, Ayrshire
Location: Minishant, Ayrshire
Date: 24th January 2026
We were recently called back to a property in Minishant after previously attending a complete pump station failure last year. At that time, the customer had a two-pump setup — but only one physical pump was on-site, and that pump had failed, leaving the chamber non-functional. We were asked to supply and fit a like-for-like replacement KSB Ama-Porter 501SE pump to restore temporary operation while planning a full system upgrade.
Today, we returned to complete the job properly.
Upgrade Overview
- Installed a new dual-pump control panel with overload protection and proper failsafes
- Fitted a new KSB Ama-Porter 501SE pump with pipework
- Installed 4x float switches (start, stop, assist/duty, and high-level alarm)
- Mounted all floats on a fixed bracket within the chamber
- Wired up a new rotary isolator for safe power management
- Thorough testing confirmed full operation of pump, alarms, and switching
The customer has also agreed to grind a cable duct channel into the concrete at a later date to permanently bury the surface cable run — improving safety and aesthetics.
