Pump chamber telemetry upgrade Dirleton — We recently completed a full pump chamber overhaul and telemetry installation in Dirleton, North Berwick following ongoing system issues.

Initial Faults Identified

• One pump had completely failed
• The second pump was underperforming
• Electrical tripping was occurring

The customer requested a proper overhaul to improve reliability and to introduce modern fault monitoring so any future issues are picked up immediately.

Upgrade Works Completed

• New uprated macerator pump installed
• Dual changeover pump control panel fitted
• 4 new float switches installed
• Float switch bracket fitted for secure positioning
• Remote telemetry alarm system installed and integrated
• Full system testing and commissioning completed

Remote Telemetry System

The newly installed telemetry system provides instant alerts for:

• Loss of power
• Pump 1 tripped
• Pump 2 tripped
• High level

Alerts are sent via phone call, text message and email to multiple users, ensuring faults are picked up immediately and acted on before they become major problems.

Why Upgrades Like This Matter

This was a close call — if servicing and upgrades were neglected much longer, the consequences could’ve been far worse and significantly more expensive to repair.

Modern pump chambers should always have reliable pumps, correct float setup, proper overload protection and remote monitoring in place.
